Proverbs 5:3-4 says:

{3} For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey,
and her speech is smoother than oil,
{4} but in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
sharp as a two-edged sword.

This is warning us that an adulterer or an adulteress is pleasing to listen to (their words are pleasing to hear, just as honey is pleasing to eat), but what they say is false — a lie — and if you listen to them then your life will finish in bitterness.

The principle is about not listening to lies that sound pleasing.
