You are probably thinking of James and John who were called “Sons of Thunder”.
[Jesus] appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter); James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder); (Mark 3:16-17)
Boanerges is based on an Aramaic expression. The name was probably given to James and John because of their quick temper (Luke 9:51-54).
