“There was none like him” – Hezekiah 2 Kings 18:5 and Josiah 2 Kings 23:25

Acareful reading is all that is necessary to indicate that there is no contradiction. Hezekiah is commended because he “trusted”, 2 Kings 18:5. Josiah is commended because he “turned”, 2 Kings 23:25. Mutually exclusive statements are not made.

2 Kings 18:5 “He {Hezekiah} trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.”

2 Kings 23:25 “And like unto him {Josiah} was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.”
