The concept of a “new creation”, and of baptised, born again, men and women as “new creatures” in Christ is found throughout the New Testament.
Key verses include:
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (ESV)Galatians 6:15 For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. (ESV)
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (ESV)
The topic is important because it is also key to understanding that the creation language in the New Testament primarily relates to this new creation, of new men and women, not to the old creation of Genesis 1.
