Do “holy” and “sanctified” mean the same thing?

‘Holy’ and ‘sanctify’ are closely related words. To ‘sanctify’ something means to ‘make it holy’ — i.e. ‘sanctification’ is  the “process” whereby something goes from being unholy to holy.
