‘Forms of prayer’ are not a Scriptural concept. If we pray to God in the right spirit, he will hear our prayer.
When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
If we pray to God in the wrong spirit, he will not hear our prayer
If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.
So I suppose you could say there are 2 forms of prayer :
- The acceptable
- The unacceptable
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.
