God has given us freewill. We can choose to obey him or choose to disobey. You can believe the things you wish to believe in – yes. This is your choice.
There are however, very good reasons to believe in Jesus and do what he commands us. Some of these good reasons are:
- Living forever if you follow the commands of Jesus — dying forever if you don’t. Acts 4:12
- Being at peace with God versus not being at peace. Philippians 4:7
- God will hear your prayers. Proverbs 15:29
- You will have the best purpose in your life possible. Romans 6:8-14
- You will be forgiven of your sins. Ephesians 1:7
