More details of question:
In reading Exodus and the making of the ark and tabernacle, the Israelites gave more than enough gold and silver jewelry. I’m wondering where did all the gold come from and how did they make jewelry way back then? They were in the desert where did they get the tools/machines to do the work of God?
The gold was available because the Egyptians given jewelry to the departing Hebrews:
Exo 3:20-22 So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do in it; after that he will let you go. (21) And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and when you go, you shall not go empty, (22) but each woman shall ask of her neighbor, and any woman who lives in her house, for silver and gold jewelry, and for clothing. You shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”
The workmen who were skilled in working with gold must have had sufficient tools. However we are not told where they obtained them. The two main craftsmen were Bezalel and Aholiab (Exo 36:2).
