Michael is the name given to a ‘chief prince’ angel figure which first appears in a vision in Daniel
Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me twenty-one days. So Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, and I left him there with the prince of the kingdom of Persia. (NRSVUE)
Daniel 10:21 But I am to tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth. There is no one with me who contends against these princes except Michael, your prince.
These two verses do not necessarily imply that the ‘chief prince’ protector of Israel literally exists as a named angel any more than the ‘princes’ of Persia or Greece literally exist as real protector angels of nations. Daniel then continues to name Michael as appearing at the resurrection of the dead. Though it does not say that Michael is the one who does the raising.
Daniel 12:1 “At that time Michael, the great prince, the protector of your people, shall arise. There shall be a time of anguish such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.

Michael in Revelation 12
Finally we have the vision where Michael Defeats the Dragon in Revelation
Revelation 12:7 And war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back,
It is possible that this vision alludes to the work of Christ in defeating sin, but Jesus is not literally Michael, and sin is not literally a dragon. See also How did Satan fall to earth? (Luke 10:18, Revelation 12:9)
Christians mis-identifying Michael as a pre-human form of Jesus.
Jehovah’s Witnesses sometimes claim that “with the voice of the archangel” in 1 Thessalonians 4:15 means that Jesus is the archangel. This is completely incorrect, both from text and context in 1 Thess 4, but also again since Hebrews repeatedly shows that Jesus was never an angel.
